I will be taking it to the US with me on the 21st of September when my daughter and I go up for the quilt show in Jacksonville, Florida – I am entering my batik hexagon quilt. While we are there I will mail it to my quilter Jackie.
I had planned on using the same pink batik for the backing – but it is a brighter pink than I thought it would be (I ordered it online from Jackie’s store.) I love it for the borders but that is quite enough pink for one quilt! I am not sure what I am going to do – but I will probably pick a backing fabric from Jackie’s store and she will keep it up there in Connecticut until the top arrives.
It turned out to be 50 inches square – I think that’s a nice size :-)

The quilt turned out just beautiful and I can’t wait to see it in person!!
Carol! I have enjoyed reading of your adventures in Panama, and seeing your beautiful work. The colors in this quilt are so wonderful. Have a great trip – your hexagons are sure to make a very nice contribution to the exhibit. I read your blog with much interest, as our little family is going to spend four months in Panama this winter (december to april) Greetings from an autumnal Norway
Carol: How about a nice turquoise? (the Mexicana in me is coming out)
It’s so very joyful, I love what you’ve done (again). Have a great trip, wish I could pop over and see the show and meet you!
You are NOT going to believe this but that is exactly what I chose for the backing and it arrived from Glorious Color yesterday. Monday I will cut it and join it and it will be ready to take to Jackie on the 21st!

Quedó lindísimo con bastante rosa, muy delicado. Llegué un poco tarde para desearle suerte y felicidades. Pero visitaré el blog para saber como le fue. Un abz, julia.
Sorry for the incorrect spelling of her name – should read

Marin is one lucky princess:) The quilt is absolutely breathtaking!

This is one of my all-time favorites. It’s a fresh breeze on a tropical island–beyond stunning!
Hi Carol,
Marin’s quilt is wonderful!!!
I think I am going to the quilt show in Jax too. I will give you a shout when I decide.
Hugs,
Frummie
It’s wonderful! I’m sure it will be cherished.
It’s amazing how all the blocks look sew different when sewn together. Love the coins inner border – I’ll be doing that on a quilt I am working on. Congrats!
